Tear strength tester specification
UTSTESTER M006B Digital Tear Strength Tester for textiles, is designed specially for testing the tearing resistance strength (Elmendorf method) for various textiles. Also available for thick paper, plastic cloth and electrical insulating tapes.
Our digital elmendorf tear tester comes with interchangeable pendulums ranging from 16,000 to 128,000 Millinewtons (mN) can be selected separately for multiple test method compliance.

Tear strength test procedure
Step 1. Prepare the sample with size 100×63mm as details as follow for tear strength test.
Step 2. Calibrate the heavy hammer on control panel and heavy hammer. including 0 ~ 16N, 0 ~ 32N, 0 ~ 48N, 0 ~ 64N, 0 ~ 80N, 0 ~ 96N, 0 ~ 112N and 0 ~ 128N.
Step 3. Place the suitable heavy hammer on the tear strength test machine.
Step 4. Mount sample properly on fixture of tear tester.
Step 5. Press Clamp button and Start button to start test and read the test result on the tear resistance tester.
